Group Tours

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.

There has never been a better time to bring a group to The Mark Twain House & Museum!

The Mark Twain House has undergone some major changes recently that help define us as a major group destination. Your group will feel welcome and able to enjoy their surroundings as they visit Twain's unique Victorian home and learn about one of America's most beloved authors.

The Mark Twain House is shown by guided tour only, with each tour lasting approximately 45 minutes. Groups must be divided into smaller groups of no more than 16 for the house tour. Each group is led by trained historic interpreters, and encompasses all three floors of the house. The Museum Center is self-guided and will take approximately 1 ½ hours to view the orientation exhibit, introductory video and any changing exhibits. A visit to the Mark Twain Store and café complete the visit.

To qualify for a group rate, a minimum of 10 people are required and reservations must be made at least 2 weeks prior to date of visit.

Group Rate:

Adults/Seniors $10
Student $8
Children (ages 6–12) $6

Complimentary admission is extended to one group leader or tour director and the motorcoach driver for each group of 20 or more.

Payment:

Payment in full may be made in advance or upon group's arrival.

Cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express are accepted. Please be prepared to make one payment on behalf of the group.

Accessibility:

The first floor of The Mark Twain House is wheelchair accessible. Visitors must be able to negotiate 3 flights of stairs for the complete tour. The Museum center is fully handicapped accessible.

Café:

The Mark Twain Museum Center café is located on the same floor as the changing exhibition hall with access to a beautiful fieldstone terrace. With indoor seating for 60, there is more than enough room for most groups. The menu offers an assortment of sandwiches, wraps, salads, soup, desserts, snacks and drinks. The café is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday with the terrace available weather permitting.

Box lunches, prepared for your arrival, are available and required if you are planning to have lunch at the café for groups of 15 or more. For groups with less than 15 people a reservation is required but you may order off the menu. Please call or email for menu and prices.

Reservations and group rates are not available on the holiday weekends of Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and the week between Christmas and New Years' Day.
